Your certification is Lapsed if it is 1-12 months after your certification expiration date and your recertification application has not been submitted or annual fees have not been paid. To reinstate your certification, you must:

  • Pay the $100 Lapsed Certification Fee ($220 as of 5/1/24).
  • Pay any outstanding Annual Certification Fees and
  • Submit: 40 contact hours, or Use the one-time Waiver, which allows you to automatically recertify without submitting contact hours.
  • If you choose to reinstate your certification by taking the exam, you must pay the Exam Fee + any outstanding Annual Certification Fees.

To use the one-time waiver, you must check the box next to the “I want to use my one time waiver” option on the Recertification Application. The waiver can only be used once in a lifetime. Each time you recertify after using the waiver, you must have the required contact hours or re-take the exam.
