General Information BEFORE Exam
BONENT will not provide candidate scores over the telephone, via e-mail or via fax.
Exam Score Reporting Format
Beginning in January 2009, BONENT examination scores are only reported as scaled scores, not raw scores (actual number of questions answered correctly). Candidates must note the following when reading their exam score on the Score Report mailed to them:
Exam Difficulty & Scoring
Multiple exam forms exist for each BONENT exam type (CHT, CHN, CPDN). BONENT exam forms are designed to meet the content requirements described in the detailed outline in the Candidate Handbook (pages 9-15) and on the BONENT website (see Preparing for Exams section).
Each exam form uses different questions and may vary slightly in difficulty. As always, a candidate’s score will be based on the number of questions the candidate answered correctly (raw score). The raw score will be converted to a scaled score. The candidate’s Score Report will contain the scaled score only.
Fairness in Scoring
Proper psychometric procedures are employed during scoring to ensure that the level of difficulty for each exam form is taken into account. These procedures also ensure that no candidate is at an advantage or disadvantage based on their individual exam form.
To prevent candidates who took a less difficult form of the examination from having an unwarranted advantage over those who took a slightly more difficult form, raw scores are converted to scaled scores that represent comparable levels of achievement.
